In the most recent story you've read or watched, what was the inciting incident? And why do you identify that event as the inciting incident?

These questions should be pretty easy to answer (as long as you've finished reading/watching the story), but unfortunately, there's lots of craft advice out there that misunderstands the role an inciting incident plays. And so many of us have heard some conflicting information about what the inciting incident is.
